Funny man Will Ferrell hit broadway earlier this month with his infamous portrayl of former President, George W. Bush, in a show titled, Your welcome America. A final night with George W. Bush. The show opened Febuarary 2nd and closes March 15th. Tickets range anywhere from $60 to $250.
Ferrell first revealed his impersonation of President Bush on Saturday Night Live. SNL expierenced a ratings boost this past presidenctial election with their impersonations of John McCain, George W. Bush and Sarah Palin. Tina Fey was dead on with her impersonation of Sarah Palin.
Ferrells previous movies have been big successess. I’m a fan of ‘Anchorman’ and ‘Elf’ but not some of his more recent ones such as ‘Semi-Pro’ and ‘Step-Brothers.’ His dumb humor missed the mark in these films and wasn’t enough to keep my attention.
One of his more successful endeavors is his creation of the website, funnyordie. It’s first video, The Landloard, is absoluetly hilarious. I never get tired of watching it. He co-created the website with Adam McKay, who directs Your welcome America and has worked on Ferrells films as well.
This video, orignally posted on Ferrells funnyordie website, explains the ‘Presidents’ plans to hit broadway.
